    Map Out My Ride

i'm a newbie to the forum and skis.. i grew up on dirtbikes, quads, sport bikes, cruisers, etc... now that i'm 30, its time for the skis!!!!

ok, so here is my question... how do i map out rides. is there a way to find fuel points, eat points, different rivers etc? like, if i wanted to figure out how to ride from jax to savannah, is it possible and if so what about my points to refuel, etc? or from jax to titusville and so on.

thanks for the help from all of you!!!!

    Get a Garmin GPS

Get a Garmin GPS like a
    https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=161&pID=351

You then buy the Blue Source Map Source map package for
the areas you will be riding in. You can sit on your computer
and set up routes, waypoints, etc. Then down load them to
your GPS and when you're on the water just key in a route or
waypoint you want to navigate go and sit back a relax......

These devices do much more, read up on them on the link.

Three guys in my club just went to Bimini on 3 Jetskis using
GPS, VHF radios and an EPIRB locator beacon.......no problemas
and the GPS took 'em to the exact dock they were looking for!

+1. I have that exact unit. Snaps right into the optional glove box cover on my SD RXT. I added the Garmin '08 US Inland Lakes. Works like a charm. You can even open your MapSource map screen in Google Earth. That option really helps when your planning a route you've never made.

I used my t-mobile G1 cell phone, a free download called "Ridetrac" and loaded the map to Google Earth. It looks like this!
