    Deal or scammer?

I have my 4-place trailer for sale on craigslist and I had 1 person send me an e-mail asking if it was for sale. I told him I had someone coming to look at it tonight but first cash gets it and to call me to set up an appointment. Below is a copy of the e-mail I got back.

    Hi,
Sorry for not replying earlier. I can have a check sent to you via
UPS/FedEx (they come to my office everyday), to cover for the payment and shipping expenses. I'm really busy this week, with a huge workload that I have to finish ASAP. I need to cut down on expenses, and can't afford anything steeper because of the economic meltdown. I won't be able to meet-up to check this out (At work, I'm really pushing my staffs right now, but they also have families to feed, so we have that agreement). I'll schedule a pick-up with movers as soon as you get and cash the check. Let me know if this works for you, by getting back to me with your full name and address for me to send the check to you.
    Thanks.

I know this could be legit but maybe I have been burned to many times. How should I proceed with this?
I can tell you this, NO check or money order is going into my bank; i have heard to many horror stories about how this could go down.
    Kirk

    Yep.
My thought was to give him my middle and last name along with the po box # to my office, get the check, and take it to that bank to cash. i just do not want too much of my personal info going out to him.

Scam. He'll ask you to wire a portion of the check back, the whole thing will end up to be fake, yadda yadda yadda.

When you get the check call whatever bank it was forged on and ask them where you can turn it in as a fake check.

Yes, that's what I was afraid of.

I sent the guy an e-mail asking what bank his check would be written off of so that I can drive to that bank and cash the check.
    We'll see how he responds.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think if you actually try to do that they'll go after you for passing a bad check. If that's anything other than a scare tactic just be aware.

Super nice trailer btw. Too bad I don't know anyone in the market.

Thanks. It's one of those things that I don't need to sell; just hate to see it sit all year long waiting on mudbugs.

That guy is full of shyte. His "story-telling" is one of the biggest indications. The guys goes on and on about his personal life and the life of his co-workers? Come on now...

100% Grade A (personal check) scam. I was a victim of one a few years ago. Luckily, I peep more game than Michael Jordan.
