    Rivet Nut Tool?

Can anyone confirm that this is just an ordinary rivet gun like the one I bought 20 years ago, you just have to buy the mandrel to fit the size rivet nut you're using?

Looks suspiciously like the one I've already got. Item #1 on McM's webpage:

Trying to throw some 1/4" rivnuts into the Jetmate hull....

Although the rivit gun is very similar to a rivit nut gun,, I don't think you can turn a normal rivit gun into a rivit nut tool. The collet on the rivit nut gun is hugh compared the the rivit gun, and the threaded stud screws into the gun.

If you are only installing a few you can make a tool with a bolt/Threaded rod spacer washers and some nuts.

There is a parts list and some directions here http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthre...t=14419&page=8 for the one I made. Post #76.

I used 5/16 rivet nuts, so you might not have to go with the stainless hardware for strength, but for the extra $1 or so, it's cheap insurance in my opinion.

Good luck....yell if you need any help.
