rubber hose and hose clamps. we ran it that way for a long time with no issues. check out the On the seventh day god created the spitfire thread. Its a long read but well worth it

as i recall we cut out the mid wall pieces to the pattern of the back of the ishaft leaving the nutserts in that piece and bolting the I shaft to that piece. Then just using the hose and hose clamps. worked like a charm

Just received the original conversion midshaft that came off the ski, definitely a noticeable difference.2" difference

1st Gen Midshaft Inside length: 145mm(5.7")

2nd Gen midshaft Inside length: 82mm(3.2")
