  • GPR speed gain per mod

I would be interested in anyones experience in speed gains per mod with the GPR hull.

    I.e
what is the speed gain for an uncut R&D plate over the stock plate

    Stepped stock sponsons vs stock

    800 grate vs stock

Jims cut R&D plate vs R&D uncut

    Riva 1300 plate vs R&D 1200 plate

R&D extended nozzle vs sho nozzle

    85mm 1300 nozzle vs 87 1200 nozzle

    HO PUMP vs 1200 pump

    Etc etc.

Ideally with all info on one page anyone would be able to then source parts accordingly as they are getting harder to find and set target MPH goals.

I Know there is are a lot of people on the forum who have spent more hours at the ramp testing and have the experience to pass this knowledge on.

Appreciate anyones input on this one

The R&D plate un modded is marginally better than the OEM , all the questions you ask by themselves provides small gains in MPH , together they all add up to a very fast ski. My GP1200R 2001 hull has a skat trak 14 vane setback pump with either a Dynafly 14/20 or a Skat trak 13/19 swirl with a R&D 800 grate and I have both a R&D plate ( machined ) and a Shred master plate with a GP1800 85 mm nozzle and a R&D steering nozzle ( I have the extended R&D too ) . I have tried them all and can change any of them to suit the water conditions ( Lake water or Ocean) It totally depends on what you are looking to do ( you missed ' trim tabs' too ) Buying these parts is getting harder because they arent being made anymore and the people who have them tend to keep these go fast parts . You can buy 1300 pumps easily and WORX grates are still made , Riva plates are still around and just step your stock sponsons and be rewarded with good speed and handling .

We have a 5* modded R&D ride plate with a stock prop and pump, modded windscreen and storage box, PROK's, triple fed carbs with the "Recipe" and clunked pickups with pickup trap door removed. Our engine is all stock except for listed mods. We just picked up some R&D heads and a 1300 ring joint, but we are at 69.1 on GPS with 3/4 tank of fuel and 160# rider.

Thanks Adam, soinds like you have tried a lot of different things to get the most out of your ski.

What rpm/speed do you get out of your swirl/dynafly ? I also have a Skat pump which i havent tried yet.

That sounds like a good speed with your mods to me. The 1300 nozzle and heads may give you a couple more ?

We do have a SHO aluminum nozzle… keeping the stock pump….. for now. We will definitely need an impeller after the heads.

We have been working with Rich at WFO. He has been a HUGE help with tuning and parts selection.

We were at 62-63 on speedo with an all stock setup. We installed the R&D ride plate with no mods and we were consistently at 67 on the speedo.

Looks like an island racing mod plate ? I have an I.R mod riva 1300 plate which is fast but i need to compare it to something to really know how good it is.
