Huge thanks to Mark C -Hydrotoys for sharing and guiding all of us with these monsters.

Thanks to all these guys for the advice, parts, tips, ect. If I’m missing anyone, sorry, and thanks in advance to anyone else!

Jerry, Duke, WFO, Hop, BDNJ, Idizzy, Carl @ Island, R-Rated, SMW, Shibby, Jeffsntx, SD Joe, J-Me, Dr. Len, Mark @ Riva, 2fast4u, Exacttrans, GPRXPSteve, hydrobug

I have been researching this stuff since before MB3, and decided to pull the trigger once Rudy at R-Rated here in jersey offered up a hull that I could not refuse. I started in December, but things got backburnered because of family issues and crazyness at work.

I have about 4 pages of typed notes that I made while reading all the other threads and from talking to others that know much more than me. This is my first GPR. I know the risks, understand most of the quirks, and am going to make dam sure that I don’t end up killing myself by throwing tons of hp at a cut up hull. I am fortunate and lucky to have friends that are willing to share this info, and a site like this to store it all…

All of the building is taking place at my shop at work at night and weekends. I have heat, ac, a 300 amp tig, Bridgeport, lots of shiny metal, a forklift, unlimited dry compressed air, and pretty much anything else I could possibly need.

I want this thing to be the fastest on MY lake, with full handling and most of all good gas mileage & reliability. Paint may come next winter once I hustle enough people.

The goal: 83 locked down, 85 loose, on a stock engine/intercooler ect. Except for required reliability mods. Should run near silent & look like a stocker. All on a 1200 grate. Can you say SLEEPER

The idea is that it all costs me well under $4g’s once all the extra crap is sold off. . . So look here for parts
    Buy my extra parts

About 6 hours to totally strip all useable parts off the doo. About 6 hours to remove 8 years of abuse from the gpr

Anything that could be sandblasted was sandblasted

            The plan:
Maximize the hull and pump setup.Hull has been trued, filled, sharpened, painted, wet sanded, ect. A sheet of glass would be jealous. The pics don't do it justice.

Shoe is in, sealed and set. Transom plate is in sealed and set. Going with the 05 pump, 2” spacer dual jetworks relief valves, Island Racing HD bearings, Dynafly, R&D 1200 grate ONLY, unless Jerry makes a SS 1200 grate.

Tunnel was reinforced with 12 layers of various weights of fiberglass and west systems epoxy. All brackets are being removed and either re sealed or replaced with upgraded OEM or my own creations.

Engine mounts are going to be aluminum. Not sure yet, but I may make new engine side brackets to allow me to use the Yamaha mounts. . . Probably not, but maybe

Already stretched the rxp fuel sender to fit properly in the gpr tank. Pressure tested 3psi for 30 minutes with ?¢ psi drop. Why? Well, they are both the exact same capacity according to the info molded into each tank. 15.9 gallons. I like the clean look of the gpr tank. And doing things the hard way. ..

                        Looking great Mike!!!

I have no doubt you will meet all your goals with that kind of attention to detail!!! This looks to be the most realistic stab at a recreation boat running in the 80s. Jeff's is simular but think he is going to add a few performance enhancers.
