Is the year 2000 787 GTX Carbed engine the same as the year 2002 RFI engine?

Thanks for your response Raider, will this work?
Im looking to transfer the running engine and eletronics , gauge, jet etc from a hull with a large hole in it 2002 GTX RFI to a 2000 GTX (carbed version but all that is getting ripped out) good hull do you think this will work? Are the Hulls the same for those years?

You cannot swap a RFI long block in place of a carb long block, regardless of year. They are not the same.

Hi All, I am new here so excuse the rookie(ness) but I'm a fast learner, I have a bad engine in a 2000 GTX (carbed version), I have a rebuilt 2002 GTX RFI engine, will it work If I just swap in the RFI engine (not the RFI parts) just the basic engine and hook up the carbs? Are these engines pretty much the same?
