  • Custom Bearing Support Bracket...

    Hey guys...

I made a bearing support bracket years ago for Hallpass's ski, since the midwall was removed...I got a few inquires about it over the summer, so I decided to make an updated version...Thanks goes out to my buddy with the waterjet...

Bracket is designed to be used for anyone that has removed their midwall, but still needs support for the bearing. The setup gives you 15mm of travel UP/DOWN. Simply bolt it into place (loosely) and position it as low as it will go. Then mark from below the holes, remove it, and drill your holes. Reinstall.

If you look at the parts, I designed them to be pieced together like a jig saw puzzle. Cut from 1/4 T6061 aluminum AND there are relief cuts to allow for a welded bead to join the parts. Easy, simple, and strong.

Just got these parts today, have to go to the welder in the next few days....

    What you guys think?

It supports the bearing that holds the mid shaft. Lots of early conversions had the entire midwall removed, and builders had to fabricate a support bracket. This is a sturdy alternative with flexibility built in, if they wanted it.

No price yet, pm if interested though...as of now this is a one-off but it can be replicated quickly.

                    Danny,
you ever come up with a price for these things? Is the back part thick enough to act as an intake grate support as well? You know the part that bolts down to the hull. I am assuming that with this you would run a sealed bearing carrier like seadoo?
Might be building another one for local and he likes the "bling bling" as he likes to call it.

Yet Another GH'er that delivers MORE than was promised !! Thank You !

This is a great piece. Way more support than I needed... but more is better.

If using the factory mid-wall "chunk" you will need to up-size the thru bolts to M8x30mm with a lock washer. (and this will also cause a 6.5mm tighter hose...ONLY)
I will be adding a thread-sert to the inner hull to bolt this piece in place.

Maybe as a holiday special, Danny will add 3 SS bolts with washers (M8x30mm) to the package.

Does this mount with the front intake grate bolts? And maybe dumb question does it put mid bearing in Stock location. Say for yamaha engine but just getting rid of the midwall?

I used it to mount the intake grate bolts by tapping and threading it, I also ran the bolts all the way through and put a nut on the back for good measure. In hindsight I would have left the midwall but when I was doing my conversion I hacked the midwall out first thing so this was the way to fix it. You have to measure where you put it to make sure your bearing is the right place.
