not trying to get involved in drama, but for those who are here to learn and build, this is what I followed:

This is an explanation of how I wired the Yamaha Start Stop switches in parallel in order to work with the Sea-Doo RXP Start Stop two wire switch.

The fly racing button is only good for the 06 fwd ski's.. You need the vts buttons for the mode function on 04 05... Or i suppose you could use 3 Fly racing start/stop buttons? Im not real familiar with the functions on the 04-05 electronics...

here is what I did with mine, i used the OEM GPR button housing for on/off of the motor. see the youtube link above for video how-to. then i bought 2 water-proof, momentary switches, and installed them into the cowlings for the mode/set. i can look for the website where i bought them from, if you are interested, they weren't expensive, i don't think....

the mode/set buttons are the silver ones, on each side of the cowling. the 3 position switch is for the bildge pump, the other switch is for my aftermarket gauges

here are the mode and set buttons

this is what i used for the bilge pump and gauges

pretty easy to install, just cut the hole in the cowling and push it in....

One idea I had was to use the UMI for the start/stop and VTS buttons, leaving the mode and set buttons without a place. So I was asking if the Fly buttons work for the mode and start button. Again, UMI housing and two Fly buttons? I also like Ranger's idea, and would take the clutter off the bars.

The fly can only be used for one function. Just let the mode/set hang in the glove box they are not used very often.

I just wood-screwed it between the wires to the cowling. I used a single SD button for the bilge.

Between the wires, is the key for this. You can't put anything around the buttons. It's a sealed contact with a couple of round plates inside.
