We made a wooden mold as well, but when we installed the gauge we noticed it wasn't sitting up high like some of you have it. Did you guy pull on it to get the gauge part to fit or did you cut the mold to the size of the silver piece on the outside of the gauge? How are you guys holding the gauge in? And, are you using the rubber piece that the guage sits in?
    Thanks.
First one we did looks like Boostaholics.

does anyone have a pic of a new style (08') gauge installed? I've already damaged one center plastic doing this, any ideas would help.. Thanks

I don't think an 07+ gauge will pit properly without a LOT of re-shaping work. It's a good bit larger (albeit thinner) than the 04/05 gauges.

That being said, I'm sure its been done just not by me. Hopefully someone will post a pic for you.

            JL,
Is this only for the '07+ gauges?

It looks clean but very high in the console.
I found that two cuts and a heat gun lets you drop the gauge into the console, allowing full access to the release button.

-the 3M tape was intended for fitment but it's stronger than the hull bond!!!

you have it pretty much dead on for the cut out. that's exactly where i cut the console so it still supports it. so all you really need is the cover i have made up and comes with a back bracket to hold it all in place. you can still get to the release button also...
i can also cut out the trim piece for either year models.

                Steach,
I have a couple of his on my skis. You can still reach and push the button on the lid. It's certainly talller and tighter under there.

I only wish it was more rounded shape and of a thicker material. No biggie. It's just a cover.

Good luck. They are rather tough to deal with sometimes. They are based out of Japan, so see if they have a Euro outlet.
