  • GPRXP VTS

Thanks to Hydrojunkie and GPRXP Steve I was able to get the SeaDoo VTS mounted.

I realize the Yamaha QSTS is more than adequeate but I liked the idea of using all the SD gauges and a little more bling on the bars.

I simply had to remove the battery strap connection @ the top of the pump tunnel then open the existing hole slightly. Everything slides ride in but the GPR hull is thinner so you have to make a spacer to get te VTS nut tight to the hull. I just used a 1 1/4 extension for a shop vac and cut it to just over an inch long.

I will add a o-ring on the back side of the spacer where it meets the transom/hull and over the VTS rod just in case. The existing seal on the nut is also reatained (against the spacer). I am still using the SD Support under the VTS will secure it with some small stainless wood screws since I have the thick fiberglass tunnel reinforcement.

Thanks for the info! I will probably end up doing this, but an sticking with the QSTS for the time being.

Have any pics of the exhaust now? I guess the 1300 freeflow wont work now?

the blue free flow should still fit. it touched the angled part of the ski when it's installed. might have to be sandwiched between the vts and the hull, but it should fit. . .

Works just fine. It is a little tight for the waterbox sensor but thats it. Figure those wires have to get extended anyway.

So for those who want to completely waste there time with the VTS like I have. Keep in mind the range of motion in the VTS motor is much less than the cable system in the GPR.

To get full trim down and improve your holeshot the + neutral a hair is going to be about the top on the display.

On my ski Neutral to a click above is the fastest. I did see dramatic increases in holeshot by getting the trim way down like it supposed to be.

I agree, It doesn't have as much motion or travel as the stock GPR hand trim.

                          Folks.
Try and mount your attachment rod to the gpr nozzle closer to the rotational point of the pivot, and NOT the stock gpr attachment spot.

This will provide a much larger range of movement....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. We angle the rod down to get it connected to the trim ring. I think you mean if we extend the connecting point on the trim ring lower we would get a higher range of motion ?

                            My head hurts .

Moving it farther away causes a smaller amount of range but requires less force.
Moving it closer to the center of the pivot increases range but requires more force.

                              It doesn't take much.
