  • Honda code reset

Well we are all upstanding citizens and professionals who are only going to use this for their own 'skis......right?!?

    Well then here it is:

    1. Remove the storage box.
    2. Disconnect the combination meter 8P gray connector.
    3. With the MODE and SET buttons pushed, fit the safety lanyard clip to the base of the engine stop switch and hold the MODE and SET buttons for at least 5 seconds. The ID No. mark and the first digit of the ID number come on and start blinking and the warning buzzer beeps.
    4. Push the ID No. button until 9 is displayed.
    5. Push the ID SET button. The second digit starts blinking.
    6. Push the ID No. button until 9 is displayed.
    7. Push the ID SET button. The third digit starts blinking.
    8. Push the ID No. button until 9 is displayed.
    9. Push the ID SET button. The combination meter shuts off.
    10. Pull the lanyard off. Reconnect the harness terminal and install storage bin. Reconnect the lanyard. The system is now unlocked.

Thanks for this info. You cannot believe how useful it was. I just bought a F12 and must have screwed up when initially setting the code because I could not get it accept it today. If you are ever in Orlando I will buy you a beer, if not, I will drink it for you.

          thanks

You guys are SOOOO helpful. Got it figured out. Thank you. Now I'm thinking of selling my Honda R12-X Turbo and buying a Yamaha. Had one before I blew it up , and loved it. any leads ? This will be great since I just accidently messed my code up. However, I found the connector, but can't get it disonnected. Do I use force ? Please help

After numerous tries I finally got the reset procedure to work correctly.

There are a couple of things must occur dring the procedure if the MFD is to be unlocked.

First, when you press the SET and the MODE buttons simultaneously while inserting the safety lanyard, continue to press the buttons until you have both the flashing red warning light and the audible "chirp".
Note: there must not be a flashing gas pump for low fuel warning. If you have the flashing fuel pump, remove the lanyard and let the MFD time out and shut down. Then, start again at the pressing of the two buttons.

Second, the warning light and chirp must continue throughout the entery of the 9's in the three positions.

Third, as soon as you press the ID Set button for the final 9 entry, the three 9's will disappear from view.

Once all this happens, the MFD is unlocked and you can complete the remainder of the protocol.

What I don't know is if this removes the unknown ID code from the MFD.

I am new to this and this is my first post. I hope I'm entering this the right way. Anyway...this is a new post and looking for help and guidance. I have an 06 Aquatrax RX12. It was fine when I put it away for the season. I just broke it out and was checking it for use and found water in the oil. I have flushed twice and removed all water and have good oil but haven't hooked water to it. I pulled the IC and water pressure checked it and it checked good. Compression is good, starts right up and runs smooth. I don't believe my exhaust manifold is bad but think the problem lies in the turbo. Will a faulty actuator valve on the turbo cause water to enter the oil?

I know this is an old thread but maybe someone can help. I did the reset procedure but now my aquatrax fx12 is stuck in limited mode. Holding mode and set will not fix.
