  • Aquatrax fell off lift into water (not running) - requires re-winterizing?

so my 2007 aquatrax ARN and ART1200's fell off the lift in a storm and floated around in the water for about 10 hours. They were winterized before hand and thinking they don't need to be re-winterized (i.e., RV antifreeze run through the system) again since the engine did not run while they were floating/now pulled back on the lift out of the water.....can anyone confirm or deny this? thanks much!

I’m not all too familiar with your machine, but for peace of mind... I’d rewinterize them.

Agreed. Not a bad idea to re-winterize them.

Saltwater? Definitely wash and flush out the jet pumps. Did they get water inside the hulls?

How did they fall off the lift? Waves get that high? Wind blow them off? Lift break?

Hard for me since I am 500 miles away!

        Freshwater! No water inside hulls

air pressure in float tanks decreased due to temperature drop; big wind/waves pulled one off/broke the rope holding front; the rears of the boats were locked together with a 30' lock and the first one then dragged the second off the lift!

Had a couple mechanics tell me if they didn't get cranked, they don't need to be winterized as the rv antifreeze is still deep in the system/locked. the water will run out of the nozzles/etc since they are back out of the water

So, you had one of those floating drive-up docks? I thought they fell off of one of those electric lifts that hold the 'Ski a couple feet above the water.

Are you in saltwater? If so, I'd always flush the engines after use AND flush out the jet pumps. Saltwater can cause corrosion between the jet pump housing and liner.
