HEY GUYS! EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE BECAUSE MOST OF YOU PROBABLY KNOW THE ANSWER TO WHAT IM ASKING AND I MAY HAVE EVEN READ IT BUT IVE READ SO MUCH GOOD INFORMATION FROM A LOT OF YOU GUYS THAT MOD HONDAS THAT ITS GETTING HARD TO REMEMBER WHAT IVE LEARNED....MY REAL QUESTION IS WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE 94MPH AQUATRAX? IVE TRIED GOING ON THE WEBSITE FOR IT THAT I FOUND ON A POST IN HERE AND COULDN'T GET ON....I HAVE HAD A FEW F-12X's IN THE PAST FEW YEARS AND CURRENTLY PICKED ONE UP AGAIN AND WAS ACTUALLY THINKING ABOUT PUTTING SOME MONEY INTO MODS AFTER READING WHAT A FEW OF YOU HAVE DONE AND HAVE TO OFFER AS YOUR NAMES KEEP POPPING UP IN ALMOST EVERY HONDA POST I READ(NITROSHARK, SUPER MAC AND JLFX CAR AUDIO)

the 94mph honda r12x was ramons project down at h2o xtreme. It was wishful thinking did a big motor build with bigger turbo equal length header strait pipe out the side a custom plentom ,cames, ecu, different head /valve work. Im sure motor was something crazy. Last year when i was attempting to use his upgrades he spoke of this unicorn doing 94mph but im sorry theirs no way the honda R hull can get to those speeds or even close for that matter without putting the motor in a yamaha or seadoo...06 R12x ( 126hrs) ic /exhaust upgrades .
09 F15x (56hrs) stock for now .
96 Yamaha WBII used and abused but fun as hell

The water testing ending up with some minor injuries to the test rider when the hard limiter kicked in at high speed [80+] and it bucked due to pump overstuffing. There was some damage to the 'ski from hitting the rocks.....No info on it after that."Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation"

You'll need to start with a macsboost module or tcp lock. I suggest the macsboost module. No adjustments need to be made and it takes a few minutes to install. It's headache and maintenance free. Then you'll need a good intercooler. Mac and h20 both have good ones. I sourced my own intercooler kit with great results and made a thread on another pwc forum. I had about $300 in my setup. Celtic crew is trying a different intercooler this year so that's something to look into as well. You'll need an impeller. Most suggest a 17/29 but in stock form, except for a better holeshot, it's the same speed or slower(not by much) than a stock prop. If you're not cavitating i'd ship out your stock prop and get it repitched. I'm running an 18/30 solas that i've tweaked for this year, it was nearly on the limiter last year with less mods. You should be in the 64-66gps range with these mods on an otherwise stock f12x.
This year i've added a muffled exhaust, adj. fpr, and intake plenum from h20. I've also modified my ride plate and intake grate. I'm hoping this will net me 2-3+mph total to reach close to 70 in combination with my prop adjustments. If i don't get 70 i've got a few more things that i'm going to test and i'll eventually have methanol injection similar to jlfx as well as a larger fuel pump and few other things. Ramon at H20 said he would make an affordable ecu for the 12x's last year, but i have heard nothing else about it. That would help a few mph to be able to turn more rpms and move more water out of the pump.
All in all i love my f12x's(my wife has one too). They're reliable, playful, decently quick, and good on fuel.
I'm sure others will chime in. There's some sharp guys in the Honda section for sure and a lot of them are glad to help. Feel free to PM me for any specific questions.2006 Honda Aquatrax F12x-Macsboost module, custom intercooler, air filter/breather, H2O plenum, FPR, muffled exhaust, tweaked solas 18/30, 19psi, livorsi boost gauge, modded intake grate and ride plate

I'm shooting for 68-70mph this year on my f12x with the addition of several mods over the winter and i have more mods planned for the future. Last year i was at 66mph(gps) which isn't terrible for a f12x. Me, jlfx, and a few others are still fiddling with these skis and we've both tried things never or rarely tried on them. If you bought a f12x to try to keep up with these 75-80mph plus skis you bought the wrong ski. The 15x can hang with them(when modded) but they're hard to come by.

thats a pretty good run down on mods for this f12x and i appreciate it, i'll be adding you to the list of knowledgeable people that know how to tweak these things for better gps numbers...has anybody tried a f15x conversion into a f12x hull by any chance? Just curious because i watched a video of a 83 mph 15 on supermac's site that was impressive...just curious if any of you guys have done the swap, 15 powerplant seems like it would get good numbers with the mods but i like the 12 hull's better2009 SEA-DOO RXT 255 iS

I think the best bang for the buck is JLFX's write up on a few basic mods for under 700 or so with the methanol injection... plus it sounds like you could run 87 due to it kicking up the octane points...
The Honda won't ever see the speeds of the other ski's... The hull "pushes" too much water.
I really wish someone would have put a 12-x motor in a GPR, I know it was talked about. I think with a meth injection kit and some other goodies it would surprise alot of people. I've got an 05 FXHO, an 05 4-tec and an 05 r-12x and I think the Honda sounds the tightest... and turns the least rpms.
Bottom line, I love my Honda. Sad to see them get out of the game, but I can only imagine how much money they lost on this journey.

You'll need an intercooler and a pinch more boost to turn it effectively. For your mods now, the stock impeller will be best all the way around. The 17/29 in stock form will slow you down about 1 mph+-, but you'll get a slightly better holeshot and better acceleration. Add an intercooler and more boost(16-18psi) and an 18/30 will serve you well, but it wouldn't hurt to take a degree or two out of the leading edge either.
I've been told over and over the stock impeller repitched to your needs is the fastest period since it has longer blades and it will move more water out of the pump and keep the engine loaded up. I'm testing that theory this weekend with my stock impeller pitched to a true 17/30. I also think it will retain it's pitch at WOT. I think that's part of my problem with my current 18/30 with my new addition of mods; I added 3 degrees to the trailing edge this winter and am still bouncing off the limiter. If you pitch your impellers yourself you'll also find that the stock impeller is MUCH MUCH harder to pitch than a solas. It's like the stainless used is much less flexible which leads me to believe after a certain point of mods a solas deflects and looses pitch, taking load off the engine. We'll see after this weekend.
I can say for certain that with: MB module, aftermarket intercooler, intake, and 17.5-19psi, you'll turn 6350-6480rpm in 80-90 degree water which is just about perfect. The limiter starts cutting in at 6500rpm.2006 Honda Aquatrax F12x-Macsboost module, custom intercooler, air filter/breather, H2O plenum, FPR, muffled exhaust, tweaked solas 18/30, 19psi, livorsi boost gauge, modded intake grate and ride plate

i added a custom od stock prop( the stock prop has excessive clearance gap .012-.014 per side) to mine about a month ago and tho it didnt help with top speed it did help with launch . Like a 2 ski difference it launches like a f15x or a rxp255 now. actualy better06 R12x ( 126hrs) ic /exhaust upgrades .
