  • 15' STX 15-f Pump Upgrade Problem

Hello everyone. I upgraded my 08 STX 15f to 2015 pump specs.

I am having difficulty understanding how the rear bearing fits into the rear cone. I purchased the rear cone part #11065-0828 and I'm using the threaded shaft P/N 13107-0764. Are these parts not compatible with each other? The bearing seems too small to fit on the shaft and too small to fit inside the cone, meaning there seems to be nothing holding the bearing in place.

    Any input would be appreciated.

which bearing are you using? according to oem parts diagram you should be using bearing #92045-3721, the old part# for this bearing is 92045-0112. It is a 62022RD bearing for both part numbers.92045-3721 lists 06,11,12,13,14,15. 92045-0112 lists,04,05,06,16,17. I have used both on my 06, which I have upgraded to 2012 specs. I believe 07-10 the rear bearing was in the pump housing, not in the tailcone, but you can use the tailcone with bearing provided you are using the shaft that goes with it & that should be the 13107-0764 you are using.

I was initially under the impression the rear bearing would still be in the housing. I was unable to press that bearing in which is when I realized I was using the wrong bearing which was supposed to go inside the cone.

I ordered #92045-0112 as you mentioned. Attached is a picture of that bearing inside the cone which doesn't appear correct to me. The cone on the 2015 spec is also a one-piece all metal design as opposed to having the plastic tip.

The other issue is that the inner diameter of this bearing is too small to accept the threaded impeller shaft. The research I did seemed to be a good idea to have the threaded shaft and nut but it doesn't seem compatible if the bearing is in the cone.

If the impeller shaft is threaded on the back side,I'm going to say this is not the right one for the bearing in the cone setup. The one that is threaded is meant to be used with the bearing in the rear of the pump & the idea of that nut & washer is to put equal pressure on the front & rear bearings, which in theory should reduce the chance of bearing failure, like the 2012 setup with 2 front bearings instead of one. Kawasaki really did a lot of minor changes over the last 10 years & it looks like they still haven't settled on one idea yet.

They put the nut there to keep the shaft and impeller from walking forward and wiping out the crank thrust bearing. Looks like the OP has the wrong bearings. Just go to the Kawi parts section on here and blow up the diagram with the upgraded set up.

Thanks for the input on the shaft, I'll be ordering the one directly from the parts diagram.

Does anyone have any input on how that bearing is sitting in the cone? The outer part of the bearing is barely being held in by the cone and I don't think it can be pressed in. Does this seem correct?

The whole bearing is pressed into the cone, to remove the old bearing you have to unscrew the small black rear part of the cone, if you don't have the cone with the removable end, then its also not the right one for what you are trying to do, & that will be why it won't fit.

Did you figure out the correct cone and nut part numbers?
