  • Changing supercharger belt on Kawi ultra 250x

I went to riva with no boost issue, they fixed it the s/c belt. After 5 hours it was BLOWN.... because of over tightening. Ski has 75 hours.

Price for changing it is $600+, I wanna do it myself. Got a dealer book.

To make story short do I need to lift engine using hoist (crane cost $198 at auto store) or I can just slide it to the front without lifting?

    Thank you

You so green, lol. Sorry couldnt help it.

Well let me, the Kawi smart ass help you out.

It will cost you $100 bugs. $40 for the belt and $10 for the beers and $50 for the belt tension tool. That or you could drive to Orlando and pay me $200 and Ill have it done in less then an hour.......

Go to this link below, on post #1 "PDF 20-1" and go to the last few page of that K-Tech.

The only reason I stop there is to go through customs.... Oh and the shipping company, and Riva , cant forget South Beach. Damn I do go alot.

I did it. Works flawlessly Spent 4 hours without pulling the engine. 2.5 hours spent on cleaning the compartment and engine. Hardest part was to remove and put back 2 front engine screws.

Problem with excessive wearing of the belt was in corrosion of the main wheel. I cannot imagine why Riva didn't clean it during the maintenance.

You know anyone in the Austin/Round Rock Tx area that will do this? . I know this is a dated thread but thought I would give it a shot .

Barger's Allsports, in Waco. I haven't used them for service, but I bought a used 'Ski from them and I've never seen a dealer that gives such good service!
