  • Kawasaki Jet-Ski 50th Anniversary

Looks like were gonna see something new from Kawasaki - in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Jet-Ski.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., distributor of powersports vehicles such as motorcycles, ATVs, Side x Sides, Electric Balance Bikes & personal watercraft.

Anyone care to share their assumptions?

Could be a SC'd STX version - or my guesses are as follows:
    Attached Files
    ---------------------------------------
    2017 STX-15F
    2012 Ultra-300x GPS = 74.0 MPH @ 7960 RPM
    2002 Ultra-150 GPS = 70.4 MPH @ 6890 RPM

And, for the 50th Anniversary, Kawasaki introduces, "BOLD NEW GRAPHICS!"

Sadly, the normally aspirated Ultra LX was the most underrated 'Ski on the market. I think there are even Kawasaki dealers that don't know what it was--sad... It was a fabulous 'Ski; stable, reliable, it handles rough water with ease and can carry as much as a station wagon. Discontinuing it was a mistake. It sounds like they may bring it back. I hope it's not as ugly as the new 310s. (Apologies to owners of the new 310, but I've looked and one and it looks like a circus act or something).

Not everyone wants a supercharged 'Ski (yes, I have one and love it, but it doesn't get ridden as much as the others). There are lots of people that don't want to spend $20K for a watercraft. They want to get out and have fun, but they're not addicts like most of the people here are.

Seriously, if Kawasaki wants to increase market share, they would be wise to ASK CUSTOMERS WHAT THEY WANT! Has anybody ever received a survey from Kawasaki asking what they would like to see in a new model???? What would you actually buy, and how much would actually pay for it? SeaDoo has made great strides on entry-level models. I've been on a Yamaha boat site and remember that Yamaha actually approached us to ask what our members wanted in a new boat.

How about a Kawasaki boat? I've got one, a 1991 Jet Mate, but it really isn't much of a boat. More of an oddity. Yamaha and SeaDoo both have boats. It would take a lot of R&D to compete with what Yamaha has done, but Kawasaki is a large company. Have you seen the new SeaDoo Switch? Not your average pontoon boat, and they're selling them as fast as they can deliver them.

Personally, IÔÇÖd like to see a 4-stroke version of the you Ultra 150. Judging by the interest in Ultra 15fÔÇÖs thread here, nearly 72,000 views so far, IÔÇÖd say that there is significant interest in such a machine.

A larger dealer network would certainly help, along with some ADVERTISING. How many Kawasaki motorcycle dealers donÔÇÖt carry JetSkis? And, why not? Perhaps they need some incentives to get them interested.

I actually saw a billboard in south Texas today that featured a 2022 Ultra 310 on it (or was it a 2023?).
