2002 Kawasaki STX 1100 DI Running only on #1 Cylinder

I just purchased an 02 STX 1100 DI

the person who sold it to me did the following:
* Top end re-build, current compression is 120 PSI
* Replaced Coils with used
* Replaced Injectors with used
* Replaced EMM with used

and the ski will only run on the front cylinder. All three cylinders have great spark. the previous owner also put the EMM from his other machine that is running and still only running on 1 cylinder,

I did pull the CPS and am getting .431K Ohms. I then installed a spare used stator tha =t came with the ski, and again only running on front #1 Cylinder.

Welcome! It's possible that both EMMs are faulty, as most need repair these days. But can you elaborate on "only running on the front cylinder"?

if i unplug the spark plug boot from front #1 cylinder it will not run. I can unplug the boots from #2 and #3 ant the ski runs the same.
If i unplug the boot from #1 and try to start it it will not fire....when i plug #1 back in it will fire.

all three sparkplugs have great spark

Do you see fuel on the center and PTO cylinder spark plugs?

Have you measured fuel pressure on the return line? (need to insert a tee to do that)

What is the voltage on the common injector wires (blk/red, also present at the diagnostic connector where it can be easier to probe) when the engine is cranking, and when it is running?

Unplugged each injector and gave it a quick fire..... fuel did come out of all injectors.... I have not tested pressure, and have not tested voltage....where is the diagnostic connector?

The diagnostic connector just hangs somewhere, with a loopback plug connected to it. Its not mandatory to find it, its just a bit easier to backprobe the injector voltage there vs at the injectors. It also a good idea to test the stator windings.

Ficht injectors must be bolted into a cylinder head when pressurized with fuel. They are not like automobile fuel injectors and cannot be tested using the common automotive methods.

one thing i just noticed..... I was looking around again last night for the obvious, and heard toward the back of the engine low inside the ski. i can hear a faint ticking almost sounds like a spark plug arc when im trying to fire the motor...... I looked around to try and find where is coming from, and couldn't find anything.

I placed my hand on different metal objects too hoping to feel a spark, but couldn't feel that either.

Is this a normal sound in these machines?
