  • Kawasaki 750sx doesnt start

Hello, my dad gave me a jet ski kawasaki 750sx and i have 13 years old and i want to use the jet ski, it turns out that my kawasaki 750sx jet ski does not start after a year without use, I have tried everything, here are the symptoms: the starting engine sounds but it does not start, little gray smoke comes out, I have tried: clean spark plugs (they are new ), clean the electrical system, add some fuel to the cylinders directly, charge the battery, clean the carburetor, test the spark plugs (which do work but with a weak spark), and I'm cleaning the ground wire, obviously it's a problem electric but I don't know where, help please

    Welcome aboard, yousendri!

If it's been sitting for a year or more, odds are the fuel is bad. If it has ethanol in it, there's a good chance that the fuel has gummed up and caused corrosion in the fuel system.

The first thing to do is siphon out the old gas and put fresh gas in it. Ask your dad to help you siphon it out and dispose of it properly. Be extremely careful when working with gasoline as the slightest spark from static electricity can start a fire.

How did you 'clean' the electrical system and the carburetor?

The fuel is new i put it a new one this year and in the elctrical system y cleaned all the connections and cables but the ÔÇ£brainÔÇØ (i dont know what is the name of that piece that) it was like broke in the cable part and i cant open it because is only a solid piece with cables, and the carburetor i opened it a view everything i clean the corrosion a little bit inside and thats it. The pistons have corrosion inside i think so i dont know if that can have something with it. Thanks and sorry for my english im from chile so i speak spanish, bye and thank you again.

Don't mess with the black box inside the electrical box. Most electrical problems are due to moisture getting into the connectors in the wiring harness. If the white connectors on the electrical box are broken, they should be replaced to keep water out, but they won't keep it from starting.

You may have to remove the fuel pickup from the fuel tank and inspect it. The screens could be plugged up. Look for kinks or damage to the fuel hoses and fuel selector. Also, inspect the pulse hose that connects the fuel pump to the crankcase. Pressure pulses from the crankcase operate the diaphragm in the pump. When you had it apart, did you look at the pump diaphragm?

        What year is your 'Ski?

Im going to look that things later, the only answer i have is that the year of the yet ski is 1995 so tomorrow im going to see that, my dad thinks that is not a problem with the fuel because i put some fuel in the hole of the sparks and it didn't work. Thanks

If you crank the engine with the spark plugs out, does oil spray from the spark plug holes? Sometimes the oil injection system can bleed oil into the engine during long term storage, which will flood the engine with oil and prevent it from starting. This can also cause hydrolock.

Also check that you have spark.
