STX 12F - Throttle Hesistation

steve45, or anyone here... when I pull on the throttle (on handle) there seems to be a 1-2 second hesitstion before jet ski goes... is this normal? or is there something i need to tweak? As always, thanks in advance...

Update this morning... I ran it 45 minutes of so... the engine seems to be running rough... feels like fuel issue... injectors? I replaced fuel filter... throttle box?

Start by checking spark plugs, fuel pressure, and fuel filter.

I just put in a new fuel filter... do you think that could be the problem? Spark plugs are clean... how do you check fuel pressure?

I doubt it is the filter.

Fuel pressure requires a fuel pressure gauge to be installed in line with the fuel system, you can do it with a barbed tee fitting and a gauge or you can order the special tool for it.

Sean, after reading all of the trouble shooting areas in back of service manual, sounds like fuel pressure. But I’ll check fuel injectors too. I think I can get a loaner from an auto parts store on the fuel pressure tester. And I’ve got an engine stethoscope to listen to the injectors. You definitely got me started in the right direction! Thank you.

Your 'Ski has TWO fuel filters. The black canister under the glove box, and the sock on the fuel pump inside the fuel tank.
