  • Going pre-mix on an Ultra150

I am a chicken when it comes to oil injection, been burned once, so I want to go pr-mix. From what I have heard and read, the oil injection pump gives lubrication to the balancers on the engine. Since this is the case, I think a block off plate may be dangerous.
Has anyone ever plugged the oil lines that only go to the carbs and kept the pump giving oil to the balancers?
I have heard their pumps are great and I know I could change and properly secure, I just would feel better with premix. Plus my other skis are all pre-mix and I might save me from putting the wrong fuel in the wrong ski.
I may not be the fastest, but I'm NOT the slowest.

I kept the oil injection intact on my Ultra. For safety I always pre mix oil at a 100-1 ratio. I use Pennsoil 100% Synthetic two stroke oil in the oil tank and for the pre mix. If the pump should fail or a oil line come loose, the 100-1 could save the engine from seizing up. It's cheap insurance. I never fouled a plug and get very little smoke running it this way.

That's a thought. I still would like to get to full pre-mix. I have 3 other skis that are pre-mix, lawn equipment, old school lawn-boy 2 stroke mower even. It makes it less confusing if all your gas cans have the same thing in them.
I'm just getting older and loosing it mentally, so this justs cuts out the chance of screwing up any of them, or, I could fry them all.......
