  • 2001 900 STS - Cone Cap

    First port here

I've done some searching and haven't found what I'm looking for so I thought I should register and post.

I have a 2001 900 STS that we (the family) acquired at the beginning of the year to give the kids something to poke around on while we are anchored in the boat. Ski ran great all year until about the last week of the season before we pulled it.

Long story short, the pump is shot so I'm in the processing of acquiring the necessary parts to rebuild it. I have already purchased a few parts from PWC Performance but sadly one of the parts I'm looking for is discontinued and I can't seem to find a satisfactory replacement.

The part# I'm looking for is 11012-3772 which is the cone cap. I can find used cones complete with a cap on EBay and I may very well have to go that route but I wanted to see if anyone knows of any other sites that may sell them....or at least an updated version maybe? Heck, I'd even settle for a modification that eliminates it. I can't reuse the old one since it was snapped off inside the cone.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Welcome aboard, MadHatter!

Megazip.net says they have it, but I don't see a phone number to confirm it. https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl.../cap-110123772

SBT carries some aftermarket parts, but they don't show that one on their website.

I'd just buy a complete cap assembly on Ebay. There are a couple of used ones.

Looks like it wouldn't be too hard to have somebody make one on a lathe.

      Thank you, Steve!

I didn't come across MegaZip during my searches so that is VERY useful.

Megazip.net is also new to me as a source for OEM Powersports parts.

Interesting that Megazip offers global reach with warehouse/distribution facilities in a half-dozen countries.

Who has actually purchased OEM product from Megazip?
How well did it work ?

I have NOT purchased from Megazip, they came up when I did a search for your part number. They have claimed to have some parts I've needed in the past, but pricing was slightly higher than other sources and I was skeptical of ordering from Japan. I periodically get emails from them. I didn't realize that they had a location in the US until I looked at their website last night.

I've searched the world over for a part for my Ultra 150 jet pump unsuccessfully. Kawasaki maintains a parts inventory database of all of it's US dealers. They referred me to two dealers that indicated they had the item I needed, but when I called, they didn't have it.

                Thanks, Mike!

I'm looking for the Pump Case, # 59336-3713. This is the part that goes over the impeller. They get water in them and the liner separates from the housing.

The expansion chambers and water pipes, are no longer available. Original cylinders are getting rare, good displays and fuel level sending units are also scarce.

I discovered that my water pipe has a pinhole in it last weekend. I was going to get it welded, but I've decided to re-design it and make it from brass instead of aluminum.

I gave MegaZip a shot. Just got an email this morning the part is no longer available and they are issuing a refund and will remove the part from their inventory. Looks like EBay will be the only place to get it.

MadHatter, in your case, I think the best solution would be to make a plug out of brass. You could put a hex end on it with an O-ring. This would be much better than the plastic that Kawasaki uses. The plastic plugs on my Ultra LXs are hard to install & remove because the Allen sockets are wearing out. I may have to make new plugs for my own 'Skis...

I was wondering if something custom would be a better approach. I'll look into this option.
