Air temp and humidity? Is the water pretty cold this time of year where you are?

    • Mine did 75.1 on Myall River. Most speeds are around 72-74 though.

      • Nice speed!...I find it a little premature and call it cavitation and change the liner after only 40 hrs...gonna test with no wedge and if hesitation persist will measure blade to lining then make a change if not within spec....

        • If you have hesitation its not the wedge i just goy my pump and prop rebuilt to .1 clearence had to fill the pump with grease and start the motor in the water i can tell you clearence on a high hp ski is everything.

those hrs on those crappy props are always worn, look for the burn marks on the blade end , I am 100% its due for a tidy up

            • Looks like it was the 2* wedge all the time ...did almost 20 holeshots from 3mph idle...hooked up Immediately, got a good"bite down" on the water...tried in nuetral, one down and two up which gave me my best speed of 73.5...so lost some top end for a quicker and better hook up...

The Aussie 2* took too much ski out of the waterleaving the prop spinning out of the water for a split moment I believe...all the testing was done in same conditions (water) and leaning over HBs with feet all the way back on ski pressing down the stabbing throttle and shifting wt.to very back of seat...that's how Ive always Holeshot my skis...

Gonna try the Riva adjustible intake grate and ride plate and seehow hookup and and topspeed are changed...even do a riva plate R&D grate..experiment....

              • Sorry but i believe it's in your set up with the wedge did you ever adjust the trim rod? As i and others do not have any issues what so ever!!

If your talking about extending the trim rod like the steering rod about 5mm then yes to compensate for the wedge and now a longer pump...

If your talking about some other trim adjustment then sorry don't know what you mean...

                  • yes that's what I was saying, guess this is just one of those unexplainable differences!!! r&D plate and grate could also be the difference..as we don't use it.

                    • I use the R&D Grate and Plate now. It's fine. The Plate seems to let the ski turn better (with stock sponsons). I don't notice a big difference with the Grate though.

Do you mostly ride sitting down ? If so it's less noticeable.

Yep nice cold day, didnt take any notice what the temp was tho sorry, on the gps runs it was pulling 8000 rpm but before that on the first few runs (before gps) it was showing 8050rpm and strong mid range.

                            • Gonna test Riva grate with an R&D plate...this grate has 8 settings where you can bring down the scoop foil and a removeable chip that pushes the water down into the pump keeping it stuffed...all base on theory.....will try with foil all the way down and chip for a better hook up but not for top flat water speed...will test in flat and choppy waters...

Has anyone test the grate...been on other skis like the FZR etc
