hey fellas
does the kawasaki require its own tool or can other tools be used from other makes of skis aswell?

since im doing everything myself from now on id like to know if i need to purchase anything else b4 it gets under way (just waiting on SC belts and exhaust filter)

You need the Prop tool (basically a spline on one end and a 19mm bolt head the other). I'm not sure if other brands are the same (Edit: Waz answered that). I do know that the older skis (like my STX-R) is the same as the 300x.

You should order one.

Other than that, the pump comes out easy.

1. Disconnect the reverse bucket from the cable (just slide the sleeve back).
2. Drop the ride plate (taking the speed wheel off)
3. Disconnect trim and steering (2 x 10mm)
4. Take the nozzle off (4 x 12mm or 2 x 12mm and 2 x 13mm if you have the wedge) and bilge hose
5. I take the nose cone off next
6. Loosen the three water hose clamps
7. pull the pump, 4 x 14mm bolts. It will pull out.

Now you just put the cone end in a vice and use the prop tool to take the prop off.

I'd suspect it would need to be a dealer. The other option is AJSP (Australian Jetski Parts) but they are in Queensland so they'd have to post it anyway. Greenhulk would probably be just as fast.

If you have the pump out and just need to swap props, let me know. I have a mobile prop removing setup tow bar neck removes and vice installs

Though I put the tailpiece in the vise the first time and I popped the prop off , my vise is not most sturdiess and got the tailpiece a little chewed up ... I'm gonna be swapping out a few props so I invested and got the impeller base tool ($80usa)....just put a 14/22 on and the removing the old prop was SO EASY..actually lent a friend a spline and the base tool to a friend to change out bearings on his STX..he loved it a breeze...

If your gonna be changing out a few props might be worth getting...most guys just use a sturdy vise but I'm happy I got base piece...JMHO

a variation to mals of which i do, remove rear step, remove reverse bucket with 12mm ratchet spanner, leave ride plate on, remove rest of pump bolts and pull pump it the rear always works for me..
