  • 08 Ultra 250x oil

Hello, Just recently acquired a 08 Ultra 250x. The previous owner had a oil change done at a dealer earlier this year. I was looking things over and found out they overfilled the oil about a quart and a half. I want to change the oil/filter with the best stuff I can get. I want to use full synthetic if I can. Looked up amsoil and royal purple but can't find any info on the grade. It says in the manual I need API SF or SG API SH, SJ or SL with JASO MA. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Congrats, hope it treats you well. We use full synthetic Kawasaki oil in Gina’s 16 Kawi 310R. Can’t complain 420+ hrs!

There may be fuel in your oil that makes it look like it has been overfilled. I run vr1 racing oil 20w-50. Look at the sticky threads for proper oil level when you change it out. It’s been recommended not to fill to the top of the line.

I put Rotella T6 in ALL my customer skis. Have been for several years. I have one customer with two 250x, one 300, and two 310's.

Side note....check that pump for the updated parts, if not....do it asap!

Thanks for the advice! I ended up just buying Kawasaki 4-stroke semi synthetic for now but will definitely change bro something better in the future. Its has 74 hours right now. Everything is stock so at the end of the season I'm going to take it in for the pump upgrade. Cleaned the intercooler it had a bunch of oil and new plugs pmbr9. Super clean ski. ThanksClick image for larger version

Thanks! I'm gonna have the valves checked at the end of the season and get the pump upgrade. Anything else you recommend? I'm thinking of changing supercharger oil soon also.
