  • STX-12F no spark after flooding.

I managed to flood and nearly sink my ski a couple of days ago due to the flushing fitting coming loose and I didn't spot it until it was too late.

I've drained the airbox, and intake manifold, pumped all the water out of the cylinders, sprayed WD40 into the cylinders and dried everything I can think of.

Problem is, I've now got no spark. Fuel pump is working, engine cranks over fine, just no spark,

Not sure where to go from here???? Any ideas???

Did you clean the spark plugs or replace them? They won't fire if they're wet.

Open up all the plugs in the electrical harness and clean/dry them. The Kawasaki harness connectors don't seal very well.

Cleaned the plugs and now have a spark plug tester hooked up and nothing.

Have you tried the old 'stick a screwdriver in the spark plug lead and hold it near the block' test?

Well Steve, looks like you were right! I sprayed and dried every plug and connector I could reach, and afterwards checked again and, voila, spark mysteriously returned!
Fired her up and gave it a good 20 minute run on the trailer till it was nice and hot.
Seems all good now, thanks for your help.
