  • Just some thoughts:
You may have started with more actual fuel, your buzzer may go off later or the ski may ride at a different attitude, more nose up or down.
If I could say just a single word about myself it would be, I don't do what I'm told very well.

I agree but taking all that into account there is at least a few gallon difference. Can my additional mods produce such gains?

      • i've seen same benefits comparing my 2008 15f ( timing , filter , second muffler remove , 13/19 prop with 148 mag pump, ported head) vs the 2009 15f (filter) of my brother.
2 persons on the 2008 and 1 on the 2009 , same trip , same method to refuel.

        Good mods add efficency

        • Well guys,
I sold off the 2007 Ultra 250x and ordered a 2014 Ultra LX. I'm onboard with the NA club .
          A couple of questions :
I see they have changed the ride plate design some since the flat bottom 2007 ride plate. Will I still need to get a Riva plate to gain some speed ?
Will a cold air kit from an Ultra 260x (2009) fit onto the 2014 Ultra LX ? My new LX isn't here yet, so I can't look under the seat.
I did order the deep fuel pickup already.

          • Update on my starting issue. it turnied out to be a bad ground just like Smokey said. Ran a second ground to the block and starts first time every time
I've also discussed how amaized I am with the fuel milage of my ski. On wednesday two friends of mine that also have 2007 LXs and I went on a 68 mile ride on the chain of lakes. The ride consited of a large percentabe of cruising at 40 mph (6600 rpm), about 10 miles of no wake and 10 miles of WOT.
one of my friends ski is stock and the other just has a Riva ride plate. The one with the plate had an issue and was down on power so I won't talk about his milage.
We all left with full tanks and filled the tanks upon return.
The stock ski with a rider that weighs 100 lbs less than me used 13.5 gallons of gas or 5.04 mpg.
I on the other hand only used 11.5 gallons or 5.9 mpg.
it appears that the modifications I have have actually improved my mpg by 17%. That's not bad when you consider that I need to run premuim which costs about 23% more than 87.
All in all I;m very happy with the modifications i've made both from a performance aspect as well as fuel ecomomy. With the extended fuel mod i have well over 100 mile range.
            Dave

            • Never did the kaniflex hose to the front. Will the 28" hose on eBay be long enough? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=191652739821 also with a 5 degree timing advance should I deploy a bigger walpro fuel pump?

                • What RPM's are stock Ultra LX ski's getting at WOT?
Most people seem to be getting 52+ mph

I couldn't get past 47 mph 2 up (tank empty) , total weight 380lbs...... , but would like at least 50 which is what my old stx 1100 used to do 2 up, and it even had a worx scoop slowing it down
Unfortunately I didnt pay any attention to the RPM, but the max recorded on the dash was 7240
The pump doesn't look too healthy, thats next on the list.

                          • Currently am running a 5 degree timing advance and ALWAYS use shell 93 octane fuel. What's the greatest timing advance that's safe ? Is there a how to for cutting the timing wheel. I can find one.
