  • Ultra LX N/A & STX12/15 Performance

    What I would like to have is a thread dealing with the two non supercharged Kawasakis. While the hulls are VERY different I know performance gains will be different but we can discuss what works. I know that there are many more 250/260 owners of which I will be also but for the time being I have what I have and would like to tinker with it. There are not many mods out there but we can discuss their advantages, disadvantages, and just plain waste of money. After speaking with a few other members with these skis we would like a little more info than just "go get a 260" ****Just giving you guys a hard time**** I have gotten lots of good help from many of you. I would like to have a place for us budget riders to share.

    Can the timing mod be done on it? I dont see why not? Then would have to run 93 fuel. Unless tha NA ski is already advanced in timing? I dont know, someone who has 15f chime in here.

      I dont think the timing is advanced on the stock 15f. they sell a plate for it. I have a different ECU so its all programed though it.

        You are right it??s not advanced.
        We are racing with it advanced 6* but you don??t see the big gains the 250 guys see. We only get a slightly better holeshot.

                I have a timing advance plate for sale for the 15f. $35 +shipping.
                I also have a new pump nozzle bored +1mm from stock, if you want a better holeshot. $75 + shipping. Also have other stuff in the classified section.

                      I know that there was a thread on 250/260 about rough running and killing when coming off of WOT or just higher RPMs. I will be bringing my 07 LX to the dealer since I have ext. warranty. I am just wondering if I can steer them in a good direction. I just changed my plugs todayand went test. My idle is right at 1200 but when I let off the throttle she comes down to undedr 800 and kills. Even on the hose if I hit the throttle and let off she dies. The dealer told me bad gas and change the plugs last time and she has not run right since. I am pretty sure others have had this issue and I am wondering what corrected this issue.

                        I had it happen to me, the throttle cable was being pinched so it wouldnt return to a steady idle and it would die. check your throttle cable for kinks, pinches or that its not making any real tight turns

                              Well I brought my ski in yesterday and got the call today. GIO, that is right GIO in even the LX. Compression down to 150 PSI when it should have been 250 in all 4 cylinders. Kawasaki honoring under warranty. Curious to see what all they do.
