Hey hope someone out there can help me I was winterizing my ski ran great that day then go to winterize it. Ski battery was dieing so I put a jumper pack 12v on it fired right up ran antifreeze into it kinda spilled alittle in but not alot and I shut it off started it again no issue shut it off then wanted to start again but there was no lights on dash no power to anything. Also when I pulled the seat everything looked wet from sweating moisture I checked out some wires and found the black ground going from boxes to startor melted pretty good was gonna open ebox next but would like some advice or ideas please

I'm trying to figure out what you wrote. When you typed 'startor' did you mean 'stator' or 'starter'? There should be a thick black wire going directly from the battery to the engine block, and it may attach at the starter. There may be a small black wire running from the electrical box to the stator. I've seen a harness melt on an 1100 because it came loose and laid against the exhaust expansion chamber.
If you hooked the jumper pack up backwards, it could blow the fuse. Could be a weak jumper pack, as well as weak battery.

Is the black wire the only wire in the harness that is melted? You need to determine why, as it must have carried too much current. I'd test the stator condition.'15 Kawi Ultra 310X

I opened a two inch section of the harness and the black wires insulation came right off because it had melted not sure if it's broken anywhere yet the other wires look intact in that section can you send a link on testing stator I'm going to open ebox to check connections I take it that's where I need to test stator at that plug I do have experience with testing a cdi last year on my dt150 but I was hoping someone had ran into this issue and had resolved to save me some troubleshooting time thanks againComment

You better go ahead and take the e-box lid off for inspection. I commonly find water in them and corroded connectors.Comment

Ok I opened up ebox and the ground in the harness that goes to the rectifier is completely burned up and broken tried testing rectifier but wasn't getting good readings so i ordered a new one and the harness too. I then tested ohm resistance on stator that was 1.2 brown to brown so now I can just add a new ground from battery to the inside of ebox to all other grounds that bolt in and also unpin the ground from stator plug inside and cap just to be safe? Hope that works when I get the parts thanks for your help iknew I was gonna end up working on it but not this soon lolComment
