SHop visit...500 bucks to re-build the carbs??? Couple questions
I just pulled my 98 zxi1100 out of the shop. They wanted 500 to re-build the carbs....ouch!! Couple questions:
1) Quick backround. I had the motor out of the ski for 5 years as I had big dreams for the ski. Well life gets in the way ...divorce...blah...blah... So I put the stock motor back in with some new gas, started it...it would not idle, after running it for 6 minutes or so ...it idled.....took it too the shop.....They quoted 500 to re-build the carbs. I think they just need a good cleaning....and I will sipon all of the gas out of the tank.
Without ripping the carbs apart, Can you offer some key points to clean on the Carb?
I just want to sell this ski....compression was 120 on each cylinder and it hasnt been used for the last 5 years and is in great shape...Comment
