2004 STX-12F hood question.

Hey guys, I recently got my project ski up and running and have started stripping the old decals/stickers off of it and am leaning towards the AMR kits to give it a new look. Since AMR only has kits for the 15F I assume it will be fine for my 12F with the exception of the hood. Would a 15F hood simply bolt on to my 12F? Any and all help is appreciated.

As I responded in your other question, no, I don't think it will fit. If you look at the parts diagrams they have different shapes. I suppose that it might fit, but it doesn't look like it.

You might be able to do it if you change other internal parts. Look at the diagrams.

That said, I did change the hood on my 2010 Ultra LX to a 2013 model. I did that in order to upgrade the display, which also required changing the side covers and the center cover, along with replacing the complete electrical harness and temp sensor.

Yes, I did, and thank you. Yes, the shapes are different as the cowl comes up over MFD. But it does appear that the latch assembly is in the same area as the 12F. I’d like to see a 15F in person and I think I’d be able to see if it would work or not 🤔

Mirror mounts and the hood latch mounting base on the cowl will need to be changed over as well as the 04 12f uses stxr style hood mounted mirrors and the 15f uses hull mounted mirrors. Otherwise they are able to be converted.

Oof, yep, after a little research.....definitely not worth it. I'm sure either of the AMR STX-15F decal kits will fit perfectly with the exception of the hood, which the decal would be cut to fit, if needed. Thanks for the help!

Do they make one for the STX-R? The hoods are the same between that and the 12f

I haven’t been able to find any other than factory replacement decals. I’m going to order one of the AMR kits for the 15F and go from there. I appreciate the help and will update with pics of the install 😎🤟
