  • SXR 1500 Limp mode

Hi All, first time i have ever posted on any forum so not sure how this goes.

I have a pair of SXR's and having trouble with one where it wont rev at all. it idles fine, however when i attempt to throttle on it just doesn't go. I have changed the fuel filter and fuel pump motor and had the injectors cleaned - no change. I then interchanged with the other ski the following with no change.
    1. ECU,
    2. Plugs,
    3. Leads,
    4. fuel pump,

I can only suspect there is a limp mode. if so has anyone got any ideas how to fix this.

    Thanks Grumblebum

So the used Ski I bought the dealer, the mechanic said he had to change one of the coils. There is also I noticed at the front of the engine a cable and connection, It would be in water with just an slight ammount of water in ski.

The shudder motor feels like a two stroke running on 1 cylinder. Maybe the coil is bad and you are running on 2 cylinders.

Or limp mode a 17 doesnt have limp does it?

Guess I got scan codes 400.00 for a Cando pro

I guess idle the ski pull caps until u pull one thst dosent change tone , that is failed cylinder, should be two! If it the coil!
