I have a 2017 GTX Limited 300. I have SCOM, thru hull exhaust, power filter, catch can, stainless wear ring, and solas concord 13/18 impeller.

Can I use the 8500 rpm tune?

I read you can go up to 8650rpm on stock retainers.

Yes you can run an 8500 rpm tune.

just because it’s called a 8500 rpm tune does not mean it will necessarily spin that rpm. That is just where the rev limiter is set. Which in theory you want to be a couple hundred rpm under your limiter

When using the MaptunerX tunes the stock valve train is fine to 8500 RPM.
The rev limiter is very quick acting with the MaptunerX tunes.
