I was planning to get a new 2023 FX HO, but my dealer is offering a new 2022 FX SVHO Cruiser for almost the same price. I feel like the deal is too good to pass up!
But the ski would live on a lift in the water, and all the nearby marinas only carry 87 octane. The lift is far from the car, down a relatively steep hill of uneven terrain (so no cart). I tried carrying a 35 lb kettle bell to the dock 4 times in a row a few days ago to simulate refilling the ski and threw out my back for 2 days (bad back). I can only bring a max of 10 gal of fuel before back pain.
---- So the question is:
Has anyone been able to test the 87 octane detune for a FX SVHO through Riva or have insight on it?
How did it work overall? Any issues with it or will it cause the engine to have issues longterm (shorten the life of the engine)? Fuel mileage take a noticable hit? Acceleration take a noticeable hit?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
(I haven't picked up the svho yet, have a deposit for it, but can change to fx ho if needed)
