  • Jet boots new brain box installed, jet ski wont start.

Hi all, I've had to install a new wireless zapata brain for the jet boots adaptation on a yamaha waverunner sho, after the installation the jet ski will not start in either flyboots mode or with the flyboots disconnected in jet ski mode.

I've checked the battery and it ran absolutely fine beforehand and literally nothing else has been changed, has anyone had a similar issue at all?

Pull the fuse from the brain box, does that change anything? If you're starting the jetski using the EMK, make sure you're pulling the trigger or the ski will die (wish that was called out more clearly in the manual)

Thanks for the reply, I've even disconnected the emk from the battery and tried to start as a jet ski and it wont start. like it has completely lost itself

Hmm... That's odd. Only thing I can think is the yellow ignition wire or white coil wire is cut. Is the ski throwing a code?

Continuity checked every connection, ended up removing the emk completely and rewiring the ski back to factory to get it to start. Have to say i'm not a fan of the zapata adaptation to a yamaha ski, just feels very like a very 'bodgy' retrofit. Could have just been a bad unit, but this was a replacement for a failed servo motor on a previous one so I have lost some faith in it, will be recommending seadoo for any future zapata adaptations!
