Am I the only one who think 25000 for a jet ski is just crazy ? You can buy a boat with a 300+ hp motor and have something you can carry 3 other people in and go over 100 mph all day long maybe its just me but I must be nuts look what i sold my 2007 rxp for

Not really, not for that kind of power. To build an RXP to have that much power you are looking at over 30k.

Hell, i have nearly 23k into my 07 RXP and it's probably only around 300 HP on a good day.

Thats what i'm wondering. Ive have enough and been around enough raceboats to know HP doesn't mean speed.

Does the hydrosport have a good enough hull and pump design to let that hp work???

I agree if it goes a c-hair over 76mph i'd pay 25k just to not go through the hassle of modding. and the chance of unreliability

the HSR standup factory race ski from nico (170-180) HP is close to 70 mpH.

so the new HSR runabout will not be slow, but it is not a extrem ski compare to the GP class RA.

ZAPATA weight 260 kg (he has to add 10 kg to be legal in GP Class)
new HSR 328 kg

ZAPATA power 345-355 HP
HSR 342 HP

so at the moment ZAPATA's SEA-DOO is ca. 90 kg (200 lb) lighter and has the same power

I sold my 130 mph STV River Rocket/300+ hp Merc Drag outboard complete with custom trailer for $25,000. I had over $42,000 invested in it. When I even think about possibly dumping that money into a PWC that is probably 40 mph SLOWER, I get sick to my stomache !!!!

Just a thought i was having.

With the supposive "Gentlemen's agreement" the Major PWC manufacturers have with the coast guard limiting the top speed to 70mph. How does hydrospace plan on getting around this?

Are they just going to test the waters and put out a ski that exceeds 70 out of crate? Is the ski designed to hold at @ 70 even with all that horsepower(much like the majors do now).

I cant imagine anyone paying $25k for a 70mph ski. So, if they're going to market and sell this ski in the U.S, im wondering what type of resistance they're going to face from the govt.

They are probably going to piss the Coast Guard off, and all the exemptions Jet Ski have been getting all these years are going to be gone!
