a mod boat? Like the ones they raced on the tour in 99? Not sure, but I'd be curious too. A stock 1100R hit 62 on the gun in a watercraft world issue. I've never gps'd mine though.

The daytona's had big motors, so 62 does not sound crazy too me. No one ever got to see what those hulls could do b/c the company dropped them. I had one, and I gave away the hull, and now I hate myself for it.

Around 70 that I know of. Had to be done with pipes though. There were a few that got that fast but at that point nobody was into reaching killer speeds, they just wanted killer accel.
I hear Sea World has one that does about 30, but thats only right before feeding time!
'09 FZR - modded and fast

'09 FZS - modded and very fast
'85 Sanger Hydro - just "slightly" modded and terrifying

I just sold my 97 daytona 1000 saturday. Had it since 98 and always loved it. Still have a 95 daytona 640 and 96 montego deluxe as well as a 99 tsr770 i bought sunday and im putting a top end in now. I just happen to have purchased a 05 rpx that im building a stage 3 motor for, what a sleeper if i decided to put the motor in the 770 hull-seriouse thought but not sure how it would handle at higher speeds.
I hit 75 mph on an TS 1000 when I was heading to the DUMP! But of coarse there were 15 other skis on the trailer doing the same speed. Even two 90 model Kawasaki Tandem Sports kept up.
I just recently sold my 97 daytona 1000. Ive owned over 40 skis in the last 14 years and im already regretting it. It was fast(not as fast as my rxp or gpr) and was a blast to ride. It jumped waves and handled unbelievably well. I bought it new in 99 from a dealer that was going out of buisiness. In 14 years I replaced the bendix once 2 years ago-went ahead and ringed it while I had the motor out-still had only 18thousands ring gap. The only mods were beach house sponsons(for a GTX-modde to fit the the shark) and solas and nujet impellers. I sold it on saturday to help fund the RXP project(told my wife ide sell it if she let me buy the RXP) and turned around on sunday and bought a 99 TSR770. TSR hull seems to be a lot wetter hull-handles completly different than the daytona.
