Polaris pto seals

Genesis 1999 carb rebuild engine, upgraded to 2 pto seals just finished and noticed fitted seal wrong way round next coupler, tabs and spring facing in not out . Coupler looks very close do I shim it or have I got to rebuild again. Thanks

it's not just the clearance, it's HOW the seal works.

Yes, take it back apart.
