PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I just bought this jet ski last night. guy told me it has been sitting for 2 seasons all I need to do is throw a new battery in it and drop it in the lake. well I did that and it doesn't run lol I get no spark at all I tried the holding the bilge button down and that doesn't work I got my meter out after looking on the great forum and I checked for 12 volts going into the cdi box. I believe the cdi has been updated because it has the orange wire that turns into a red/purple wire that goes to the CDI box when cranking the engine over I get almost 11 volts at this wire. I checked the brown wire I get no voltage coming out nothing I tried hold bilge button and cranking nothing I tried removing the grey limiter wire and cranking nothing so I pretty much figured the CDI box was bad. then I noticed on another post someone mentioned there jet ski would crank over with out the lanyard installed. so just for kicks I went out and tried that. and mine does also. is this normal should it turn over with no lanyard in place? any help would be great I just would hate to order a $250.00 CDI box if it needs another item.

2001 polaris virage 700 carburated has no spark and will crank over without lanyard

Some models do crank without the lanyard in place. Virage included, as I recall.
Disconnect and bypass the LR-505 Start/Stop module. In 2001 it is inside the electrical box. I have posted elsewhere how to do the bypass so the engine will crank and start. -
