  • Stator replacement? pic included

The only thing i noticed on the stator blades is one crack...

should this be replaced? sorry for the bad pic waiting on the impeller removal tool to take off the impeller...

And if so does the new Stator come redone with new bearings and seals?

i guess what im asking if this needs to be replaced all i need is the stator and impeller and i can put back together?

Wait until you get the impeller off. See how bad the damage really is.

You might be able to file and bend the blades back into some sort of reasonable condition. That five blade stator is made from aluminum.

If you decide to replace it, look for a good used six vane stator. They are made from Stainless Steel.

Not only tougher, the six vane stators are more efficient, allowing more usable thrust from the same engine power.

The 5 vane stators aren't bad, so if you find a good used one for a decent price, it will work fine.

Why are you pulling it apart? Is the Ski cavitating? I'm assuming this is a 6 vane SS stator - the side decal looks like a 00' > Pro, I wouldn't think a small piece missing would cause too many problems. You should inspect your wear ring and impeller clearances as well, as this can also cause cavitation if the clearance is too big. A brand new stator does not come with bearings, you have to get those separately. There is someone in the classifieds selling one not sure if bearings are included. Best posting a picture of the stator and wear ring once you have the impeller removed.

ok, if you buy a new stator yes you need to get new bearings. To give you an idea, a new Stainless 6 Vane is about $225 whereas new 5 Vane is around $115. Add around 50 bucks for a new pump rebuild kit. Stainless is the way to go it's a good upgrade just depends on your budget, like K said both will work. I recently upgraded an SL900 to the 6 vane and it goes great.

If you buy another 6 vane stator, it might come with bearings. Used stators are sold either way.

If it was me, I would want new bearings in the stator. They are not that hard to install, and are not expensive.

Some sellers on here might be willing to install a new set of bearings for a reasonable price, if you buy the stator from them.

A good stator with new bearings and new seals, will last for years.

So far what i have ordered to get this thing back in the water is a

              Jetpump rebuild kit, New Impeller,

Ok so what is the most cost effective way to solve this problem here? just stick with the rebuild kit and new impeller? or if you guys where me would you go ahead and buy the new stator blades?

Yes, unless it happens to have all new bearings and seals already.

In which case you can probably sell that kit on here

That's the one. If you go new try www.polarispartspitstop.com they do the same new part for $225.

You can also look at this classified thread> http://www.greenhulk.net/showthread.php?t=124798

It's a pretty good deal, you may be able to give him an offer!

The classified add does look good. i sent him a message see if he still has it.

so what im looking at if i find a stator blade that has the bearings and seals i can pop on the new impeller and bolt back onto the jetpump housing and try it again right?

Yep. The stator pump is a single unit. You cannot get blades separately.
