Need advice starter maintance. Virage 2004

I have ordered from, ebay polaris virage starter rebuil kit; (aftermarket)
What is the correct time to change Virage starter rebuild kit, what do you reccomend, is it about the year or working hour
Mine is 124 hour.?

Really depends on the conditions it was living in. Many last for a long, long time.

Others die from rust, internal corrosion, etc.

If your Virage still has the original black start solenoid with metal backing plate, replace it with the newer solenoid type. Those original solenoids can suddenly fail in the CRANK position, possibly resulting in a burned out starter, damaged Bendix and/or flywheel.

Also its 2004 year; I dont know the selonoid type??

Is that your starter motor, in pieces? Looks very clean to me!

Just look at your solenoid in the hull. It will have two heavy red battery cables connected to it.

The solenoid will be Black OR Brown color. If the solenoid body is Black color, it will have a metal mounting plate OR be entirely made from plastic including the mounting bracket.

The solenoid that causes trouble is black color with a metal mounting plate.

The best solenoid is the all plastic black unit, which is also the newest version.

The Brown solenoid is OK, but not as good as the newer black plastic solenoid.

Looks like a rebuild kit..... I have found success in good used starter motors on ebay for around $20 USD shipped.... Less hassle too! The one I did try to take apart was so corroded inside that the magnets/case were rusting and causing binding. This kit won't repair that....

The soleneid is brown one.
This is the rebuild kit order from ebay, I will use the orginal how far it goes
