Virage MFI display uses the same basic signals and wire colours as the old style MFD, except for the Security Lock function (which you can wire in, or not, up to you).
The Fuji engine mounts are different, and the Fuji 780 engine may have less power than the red twin engine. Fuji engine may also be heavier than the red twin. Too late at night for me to go checking the specs
You would be creating a mutt, with Fuji engine and CDI, married to domestic wire harness. If you decide to go ahead, create a thread in the Polaris Projects section so we can follow along. -
I don't have the Virage specs, but if the motor is similar to the SLTH 700 (95 hp), then the HP should be similar as the 780s are rated for the low 90s. The virage uses the same motor base plates that the 97 700 uses. The 97 700 and 780 SLT hulls are the same. The 96 and 97 780s have a split base plate similar to the domestic motors, but the plates cradle the motor lower in the hull. If you have or can get your hands on a set of 96 - 97 780 split base plates, the physical/mechanical aspects should work. I have a 96 780 SLT hull, a 97 700 hull, and have checked the dimensions and verified that this swap will work. If the mounts are similar/same on the Virage hull, all should pan out.......1994 Polaris SLT 750 (Reed Spacers, Trim, 035 Impeller) 47.5 MPH GPS @ 6280 RPM

thank you for your help my dads brother is a machineist and was going to make some new motor mounts and everything should pan out great what about pump and drive shaft do i run the virage pump or will the 780 pump work. the 700 has the exhasut resantors on the side whats up with that?? can i rip all that out and run the exhaust like on a 780? can i go 780 drive shaft as well or do i need to cut and shorten a shaft to make it work right?
thank you for your helpComment

Motor mounts should be the same, it is the plates that mount to the motor that may have to change. The pumps should be similar, but I don''t know the details on things like the reverse mechanism etc. IF you are dumping the 700 motor, should be able to go with the 780 exhaust complete. You may have to look at and verify hose sizes, lengths, etc. Drive shaft should work as well, but check it all by dry fitting first......1994 Polaris SLT 750 (Reed Spacers, Trim, 035 Impeller) 47.5 MPH GPS @ 6280 RPM

Having ridden both a SLT 780 and a SLT with a 700, here is my observation on the differences in the two. Now I am dealing with a twin carbed 700, not the single carb version the Virage had. The 780 is much better on the bottom end, but for top speed, I pull away from the SLT 780 every time. I think it would actually be a pretty cool swap. You would need to use the whole Ebox from the 780, and just connect in the MFI harness to that box. Use a start/stop switch from the 97 SLT, and you eliminate the LR module issue common to Virages. I really like this idea!!!!!2023 FX Limited SVHO.

the virage hull is set up for the red twin 700 there is places for the 1200 motor mounts close to the gas tank how do i make thoes hold motor mounts? drill them and tap them or do i got to put thread inserts in them? i would like to use them it would make it better to mount the 780 motor got my dads brother machine a plate for the 780 and is holding on till i figer out if i can use theos other mounts or not.
can some one tell me if i can use the 780 pump or do i need to find another virage pump? or add that to the machine list get get adapter made to run the 780 pump?
do i run the long or the short drive shaft also?
any other problems do you think i will run in to or have to fabComment

It uses all stock parts. The pumps are the same, just a different impeller. You would have to install threaded inserts in the hull.2023 FX Limited SVHO.
