  • 2001 polaris virage tx 1200 carb has cdi box with stamped number 573 206

HI EVERYBODY i REALLY NEED HELP AS I HAVE A 2001 POLARIS VIRAGE TX 1200 CARB AND I JUST BOUGHT IT .IM HAVING TROUBLE WITH NO CHARGING WHILE RUNNING I KNOW THAT IS THE LR505 BUT I WAS LOOKING AT THE CDI BOX AND IT HAS THE NUMBERS 573 206 ONLY AND NO HAND WRITING ON THE BOX I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS COMES OUT OF ALSO THE VOLTAGE MODULE IS ONLY 6 WRE AND HAS A BLACK GREEN HOOKED UP TO A BLK YELLOW YES IT RUNS LOL ALSO THE BILAGE PUMP RUNS EVEN WITH THE SKI OFF SO BEFORE I START BUYING A VOLTAGE REGULATOR I NEED TO KNOW IF THIS CDI BOX IS THE PROPER ONE AND IF NOT WHATS IT OUT OF? Does anybody have a used cdi and voltage regulator for sale

The CDI module has nothing to do with the bilge pump nor the voltage regulator. If the engine is running properly then the CDI is working.

The LR-505 controls the bilge pump and voltage regulation on a carburetor red engine Virage.

Be aware there are aftermarket LR modules that can have slightly different wire colouring.
Also some of the aftermarket LR modules seem to not work properly.

I just bought this machine and im worried that the cdi box is the incorrect one ..There is no part number written on it and the short part number 572 206 isnt the correct number for the actual stock cdi Plus as i mentioned the lr505 has only 6 wires and the oem ones im looking at have 7 wires.Im just trying to make sure the cdi box has the correct timing curve for my engine

Well, what are the comparative wire colors on the aftermarket LR-505, which wire is 'missing'?

Are you sure it is a 505 module?

            What markings does it have?

The MFI tachometer signal on Yellow wire comes from the stator charging circuit, same stator coil that charges the battery. If the charging coil is not working the often the tach signal also does not work.

Look at the wiring diagram to see how the LR-505 and the Yellow MFI/stator wiring connects to the LR module.

The wiring diagram shows 7 wires for the LR505. I strongly recommend OEM LR like this ; https://www.ebay.com/itm/18432438964...4AAOSw3utY56r3

We have had reports of aftermarket LR's and CDI's having issues, especially the LR's.
Pretty sure neither have part number stamped into them.

The CDI number you have is gibberish. Polaris part # will look like 4010XXX. The last 3 numbers kinda give the model. Pretty much all 1200 will use about the same curve. Seeing as new CDI are very limited, you will not have a choice.
If it runs on 3 cylinders- it's correct. Its possible only "high start" would be available- checking for correct timing will verify it's OK.
