I have a 1994 Polaris sl750 and when i first start it up and taking out for a spin then max rpm's i cant get out of it is 4500-4600. It will be like that for about 5-7 min and then it starts to gradually increase to full rpms. Could this be the on board computer that is causing the problem. It runs fine while it is at 4500 rpm it just seems like there is a rpm limiter on and then the limiter goes off after a few min. Thanks

Possibly the ignition system, but more likely a fuel system problem.
What has been done to the fuel system recently?
Carbs rebuilt?
Original fuel lines?

After you've ran it in "limited RPM" mode for a few minutes, check the spark plugs.
Then after it's cleared itself out, check them again and see if there's a difference between them.
I'm willing to bet the thing is saturated with fuel, and once it warms up and uses all the excess fuel, it runs normally. Try it out and let us know.My ski says made in the U.S.A...... Can yours say that???

Thanks going there today I will let you know. I know the guy i bought it from did a lot of work on it to make it faster. I think the fuel pump is the 3 line one bc i see there lines coming from it. But i am not sure if it is the original line. Is there any way if i can tell if it is the org lines. Thanks

He did a lot of work to it so i am sure he did that. Thanks
The three outlet fuel pump has five hoses;
three to the carbs
Fuel inlet from tank
Pulse line from crank case
Don't assume anything has been done, or done correctly. Best to check and confirm yourself.
Fuel lines replaced?
Fuel selector valve cleaned, rebuilt, or replaced?
