Would like some opinions on domes. I am thinking about using the sl650 (25.9cc) domes vs the 780 (28.5cc) domes. What dose eveyone think? I know it will raise compression and I will have to use 93 or higher.

Oh yeah, I think the domes will need to be machined to the piston size for clearance.

I dont think a 650 head will bolt on a 780 cylinder, I would have the 780 heads cut.

They will bolt up. But not sure about the squish. Might have to cut them out slightly. Or use ones that I have for a 750 (30.3cc).

WOW, those parts have a lot of miles (UPS miles) on them now. I know many of us will be watching to see if they get any watercraft miles put on them. We love projects Keep us all posted.

Hope to have it running by spring. So we can get some mile on the water. So I will be probly be needing some help. I will be taking a lot of Pics and writing info for anyone else that wants to do the same thing. I am also doing several other mods to it. So there is going to be a push to get this done, because as soon as the warm weather hits I will wanting to hit the water. And I really do not want to ride on the Sea doo.

Maybe you could post the year and model for the project?

This is going in the "General" 1994 Polaris SL650. I will be adding heaveily ported 780cc cyclinders, triple pipes, pro carbs, not sure if I will use side draft manifolds or down draft, 780 CDI, extended pump, and if time permiting a custom transom exit exhaust.

                          Day #1

Ok, I did get a few things done this morning, inspite of the 29* temp and the sleet. I removed the fuel tank, floatation foam, and polished a couple peices of the pipe. Not as good as Beerdarts. I am also finding that the filler neck might be a problem, so I will have to modify it or do a custom tank?

I did find a couple of parts for the fuel pickup in the bottom of the tank. Other than that I haven't found any other mystery parts or bounus tools yet.

I also cannot figure out why the stingers have three hose connections on them. Any help would be helpful.

Beerdart, I have seen that. But mine has three pipe cooling ports that connect to the pipe cooling chamber and one for water into the exhaust chamber for a total of four connections. Also the head pipes have two cooling ports each, for a total of 6, the head pipe couplers have no cooling water at all. But the Jugs them selfs have two fittings each, for water lines to run into them. So I am going to have one hell of a plumbing nightmare. Any and all sugustions are welcome.

                              Thanks,
                              Rodney
