  • Can anyone help with some bolts and such? 98 SL900

Hey all, I picked up a new project and need a bit of assistance. I bought it partially disassembled and the guy must have "misplaced" a couple of the bolts. I need 2 of the longer intake/reed bolts (PN 7516814) and 3 of the shorter exhaust manifold (PN 7516725) bolts.

I could also use a set of the black rubber stuffers, the ones that go under the reed cages. (PN 5411252)

Anybody have some spares they'd be willing to send my way? Or if you happen to be in the Minneapolis area, I can stop by and pick them up.

    Thanks guys.

I guess I should point out, I am certainly willing to pay for the parts I'm asking for. I just wanted to ask here before going the ebay route.

Ace hardware carries a big selection of stainless bolts.
The shorter bolts will be more "mainstream" then longer bolts, and usually much cheaper then e-bay.

Did you have any luck finding the short exhaust bolts? I need 4 also. I "supposedly" found some on adeptpowersports.com and ordered 8/8. As of today they only have 1 in stock and no answer when more are coming.

I checked my local ACE and can't find the combination of that size in stainless with the flanged head. I found standard head bolts in stainless, but I don't think I'll be able to get a socket on them because the holes on the manifold are recessed.

I didn't, no. Possibly moving on to a different project to be honest.

Take the part numbers I posted and look on Ebay. You can get them, they're just a bit spendy. If you'd rather get new, go look on McMaster-Carr. If they don't have it, you don't need it.

Thanks for the reply. I actually found another site that had 5 of them and ordered the 4 I needed. They arrived today. BTW mine are new and most of what I found on eBay was all used.

Awesome, good to hear! Where'd you find them?

A website called NOS Depot. Apparently Polaris discontinued the bolts, so now it’s a matter of finding someone that still has new old stock.

In my area Fastenal is pretty big. They are a little more expensive than your local Ace hardware but will special order bolts. I usually get told to order through the website as it is cheaper then ordering in the store.
