Well, which intake grate do you have on your Pro?

If it is the stock (for a Pro) 3 bar scoop grate, that would be similar to the R&D 750SL intake grate.

Both are nice scoop style intake grates which help with rough water hook up. No improvement in top speed or flat water acceleration.

the 650 grate like the stock pro1200 will help the slx.

the 750 grate will scrub some speed off the pro will will much improve the rough water hookup.

wetwolf makes an adjust a thrust which works well with the pro1200 to fill in all that area behind the pump stator,

a skat style 17/22 from a virage txi would work good with all of the other pieces. better takeoff down low, snappier throttle with the lower pitch for wave jumping and the aat will get back most of the lost mph on the big end

Been a while since I visually compared them.

The stock 3 bar Pro intake grate is closer to the R&D 650 grate than to the 750SL grate, correct?

Finally got a pics, here's the grate I got on my 2000 slx pro 1200 compared to my 2000 slx 1200. This seems like the 650 r & d grate that's stock on my pro? So if I swap that to my slx and upgrade to a ...??? For my pro that'd be like two mods for the price of one right?

I would leave the one on the Pro and get the same one for the SLX

How about a 96 sl 700 r&d intake grate? Is that slightly different than the 650 or the 750sl?

Its either a 650 or 750 grate. There were only 2 versions. They would bolt on any polaris though. Do you have a pic of the grate?

I know this is a fairly old thread and I am maybe a little off topic? But I just realized after a year, that my slt700 doesn't even have an intake grate on it. Traded an old boat for it. It runs great, so never really messed with it much. lol. Does it affect it not having one on it? I have found a couple used stockies on ebay. If you think I should get one, that leads me to my next question. Can anyone give me the specs on the bolt that holds it on? Length, size thread size?

The r&d and others can be had in the $40-60 range shipped which makes them a very appealing and realistic option vs. the worx. Just like the Jet Dynamics grate, I have one, paid the $$$ for one new back in the day, but wouldn't do it again.
I guess that speaks for itself. No one gets rid of them lol once they buy them

the jet dynamics and the rd 750 ones are what i call diggers, more so the jd one.you'll scrub about 3mph off running one but will stay hooked up way better in the rough
