95 SLX 780 Fuel sending unit removal.

I've been trying to remove the sending unit. It comes all the way out but at the end there seems to be a flange that prevents it from coming all the way out of tank. I don't want to force it and break something off. When I look at pictures of replacements I don't see anything on the bottom of the tube that would stop it.Can somebody explain what is stopping it from coming out.

There is a plastic cap on the bottom of the sending unit. That is what's preventing you from pulling it straight out. It's almost like a letter "L"

What you need to do is pull the sender up until it stops. Then lean it down towards the circuit board and lift up.

Thanks for the reply. I already removed it after looking at some pictures I figured out to do exactly what you instructed and it worked. Thanks again for responding.
