  • Bought 2 01 RX DI

Hey guys. So I recently picked up 2 of these skis. They've been sitting for 5 years and I got them both for $800. They were both running fine but the guy moved, sold his boat slip and parked them at his shop. I bought them without a trailer. So far I've got them both home off loaded. I fogged the cylinders and one is cleaned and on a stand. Still need to drain gas in both and I see where one has at least one Welch plug with a hole.

Do not turn those engines over chances are the rings and cylinders may be rusted and when you do you will score the pistons and cylinders up, you should pull the heads to see if there is rust that and also check the crank for rust if there is and its heavy, again it will destroy your engines

Those skis are a lot of fun to ride, are great on gas, and will go over 60 mph. Yeah they can be tough to diagnose but it can be done if you want to put in the effort to learn how they work.

I'm not afraid of the work. I've always put a lot of sweat equity in my projects. Live and learn and have fun in the process.

I do need to make a few bucks on them from time to time to justify the extra spending.
