Well, the shiny silver are the longest, followed by the black, which are a little shorter, followed by the gold which are a little shorter, followed by dull silver which are the shortest....

I couldn't tell the dull and gold apart except for length.... and I looked for a half hour at those damn springs..... just last night, under 3 different lights.

        Guess I'm blind.

          I guess...

Gold is the easiest to tell, its the 2 different silvers that fool most people...

The 95 spring is wound counter clockwise & all the others are wound clockwise looking at the ends,I use a small magnifying glass cus I am old & going blind.

Hey great info on the wound opposite thing. And, one of my three ways of looking under light last night, was under a magnifying glass.... LOL..

If I didn't have all four grams in front of me, I would have never got stoned!!! LOL!!!! It just sounded right and I don't even smoke anymore! Anyways, if I didn't have all 4 in front of me to compare lenghts I would have never known which was which.

              don't forget this one.

95gm - MIKUNI #730-03034 (THIS SPRING IS FOR SEA DOO BN 461 CARBS ONLY)

i have no idea what the difference is and have rebuilt carbs using non-mikuni rebuild kits supplied by owner and the 95g spring included in kit without any problems. when i order individual parts for seadoo carbs i always order these instead of 03033

what is the difference - anyone know??

That 95 gram Spring CCW winding is the key to i.d. the part.

I just go my carb rebuild kit for a 46i, and my 95g spring are just like the 65g. Wound clockwise and part number 730-03034. I thought all 95g were counter clockwise. Mikuni is saying its 95g too, no just something I thought up. Any idea's?

I've never paid attention as to which direction they are wound. David came up with that observation. Apparently Mikuni uses different vendors and they choose to wind them differently now.

I have all 4 springs in front of me and the 65gm spring is the shortest and they get longer as the gram increases. Am I missing something?

Nope. That makes complete sense to me. But very few people have all 4 at their disposal. Hence the color chart.

                            Color chart verses pop-off?

I've tried using the color chart. I only did it once and when I put the carbs back on, fuel drained into my cylinder. I have many springs now and go solely by the pop off test. That way, I do not have to pull the carbs as often.
